An added bonus is that he's so knowledgeable about Spain, and in particular, Madrid. Setting up the phone rental through his Web site was so easy. The delivery and pickup of the phone was hassle-free also. We met Onspanishtime at the Plaza del Sol and then headed off to a cafe near the Chocolateria San Gines so that he could explain the details of how to use the phone. We didn't think that we'd use the phone that much, but we did. It came in quite handy for making hotel reservations and calling the States. In addition, the phone worked flawlessly! He met us at our hotel in Madrid to drop and pick up our phone, always answered the phone when we had a question, refunded us half our unused balance per the agreement, gave us a credit when the car charger didn't work in car (charger was fine, but wouldn't work in this car's lighter socket), and he promptly refunded us our deposit when we returned the phone. And he bought us a carafe of sangria as a bonus ;) kidding. only caveat: signal was a little weak in Gibraltar. but then, I guess that's not in Spain, is it? sorry, I'm not leaving an email address, 'cause I'm paranoid about spam robots .. but this testimonial is genuine, and we heartily recommend Onspanishtime and his service."

I was so glad to have the phone in Spain for several reasons. First, I was a female traveling alone (well, I am still a female but I was traveling alone)and it made me feel safer Second, because I had the phone, the new friends I met could contact me.. And most of all, I purchased a house in the US while I was in Spain. All of the negotiations took place on the cell phone I rented. comments: "It was a must that I stay in contact with the office on my recent trip to Spain. I had talked with my cell phone provider here in the US about a phone rental for Spain but they were not very helpful and it was so expensive. There was a fee for everything. But I had to have a phone so I thought I’d try the Internet to see what else was out there and that’s where I came upon OnSpanishTime. I thought the site was a fake at first because it was so much cheaper and it offered a feature no other provider offered, free incoming calls. But after reading the web sites relaxed laid back prose I decided to look further into the rentals. I emailed Onspanishtime to get more info and our exchange of email is what sold me. He was straightforward, honest and responsive. We did the whole thing over the net. He answered my questions, I set up a paypal account, everything. I was flying into Barcelona so he had the phone sent directly to my hotel. When I got there, it was at the front desk all ready to go."

comments: "I rented a cell phone from Onspanishtime while I was studying in Madrid for the summer of 2002. Onspanishtime was very helpful in meeting me and getting me the phone when I arrived. The phone was very easy to use, no complicated functions like on some cell phones, and it came in handy a lot. Since my apartment did not have a house phone, the cell phone was my only means of communication with friends and family. Without it, I would have had no means in which to contact friends I had met, meaning I would have been stuck going out alone every night! Also, I provided me with a sense of security in the event that anything would have happened to me, i.e. mugged or something of that kind. Fortunately, nothing did happen, but it was nice to know that I could make an emergency phone call if necessary. Also, the program director of my program very much encouraged cell phones because it allowed him to get in touch with us when events changed.
